General Information

Sugammadex Sodium belongs to a class of drugs called selective relaxant binding agents (SRBAs), used to cancel the effects of neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs). NMBAs are used during surgery and other medical procedures for anesthetic purposes (specifically, to provide skeletal muscle relaxation).  Sugammadex is used to reverse the effects of the NMBAs rocuronium and vecuronium bromide in adults. In the EU, it is also approved for use in children from age 2 to reverse the effects of rocuronium.
